Zotera Stratos is a highly optimized IIoT Platform for the unique and demanding requirements of industrial applications and designed for industrial data and analytics. It combines the on-demand agility and ubiquity of the Internet with the performance and security assurances like that of Carrier Ethernet 2.0 (CE 2.0). It also enables services between not only service access points residing on physical ports, such as Ethernet ports, but also service access points residing on interfaces running on a blade server in the cloud to connect to Virtual Machines (VMs) or Virtual Network Functions (VNFs).
Zotera Stratos is based on as a Service (XaaS) principles which provides a user's own virtual network, and enables the user to dynamically and on-demand, request services via web portals or software applications. Zotera Stratos embraces a flexible deployment model which consists of a platform hosted in a managed cloud that has shared, redundant infrastructure which offer several deployment options.
SaaS - The system provides the capability for consumers of Cloud Services to use applications running on the Zotera Stratos cloud infrastructure. The applications is accessible from various client devices through a thin client interface such as a web browser or private portal. This is Zotera's most basic offering. Consumers of the service don't need to run or install specific applications on individual computers, which not only saves time and money, it also simplifies maintenance and support.
PaaS - The system provides the capability for consumers of Zotera Stratos services to request the deployment of custom applications and tools. Consumer of the service can control which applications will run on it. They will also be able to control the configuration of the app hosting environment.
IaaS - The system provides the capability for consumers of Zotera Stratos services to request the provisioning of processing, storage, networks, and other fundamental computing resources which can include operating systems and applications. Consumers are able to access the servers and storage, and can operate a virtual data center in the cloud.
Zotera Stratos builds upon the successes of CE 2.0 foundation by defining requirements and APIs in support of service ordering, fulfillment, performance, usage, analytics and security across multi-operating environments and networks. This approach overcomes existing constraints by defining service abstractions that hide the complexity of underlying technologies and network layers from the applications and users of the services, while providing essential management and control capabilities.
Connectivity and Message Routing: Provides the ability to interact with very large numbers of devices and gateways using different protocols and data formats, and then normalize it to allow for easy integration into the rest of the enterprise.
Device Management and Device Registry: A central registry to identify the devices/gateways running in an IIoT solution and provides the ability to provision new software updates and manage the devices.
Event Management, Analytics: Provides scalable event processing capabilities, ability to consolidate and analyze data.
Application Enablement & UI: Provides the ability to create reports, graphs, dashboards and to use API for application integration.
Data Management and Storage: A scalable data store that supports the volume and variety of IIoT data.
